Biography
Oliver Zisko was born in 1977 in Szombathely, Hungary. He began his drum studies at the age of 15. At the beginning he played in Hungarian clubs as a member of several bands or as a session player. The first groups were Alfred’s Violin, Utopia, Self Destroy, and the band of the poet Balazs Graf Legradi. After this he studied drumming in the local Bela Bartok music school for 2 years and learned as private student of the Hungarian Jazz Conservatory’s teacher Ivan Nesztor for 2 further years. In the meantime he did studio works and played in New Jazz Trio, Cavum band, Solar Jazz Trio, Exxxtra Blues Band, Sear Bliss (as keyboard player). Later he was a member of Jazz For Sale, Mr. Silent, Opus Altera, Boogie Thing bands and other session works. In his drumming he mixes the powerful rock and the loose technic which is used by fusion-jazz drummers. Technically he often uses in his own compositions 3 polymetrics in the same time, odd time drumming with 16th pulsation, time push offs with 16th notes, doubles and rudiments with feet. His Hungarian Score Book&CD called “Improvisation, technical exercises for drum set” published in 2006. The new DVD for modern drummers called “100% DRUMMING” came out in 2009 with a CD issue which contains the essence of the DVD’s material. Lately he has a lot of work in his small home studio where he records drumtracks for several bands. In 2010 he plays tour concerts with the band Sear Bliss and with the Cserháti Zsuzsa memorial band : Silent band, he also takes part in further smaller sessions.
Ziskó Olivér 1977 május 01-én született Szombathelyen Magyarországon. 15 éves korában kezdett dobolással foglalkozni autodidaktaként. Magyar klubokban szerepelt mint állandó ill. session zenész. Kezdetben játszott például a következő underground formációkban: Alfred’s Violin, Utopia, Self Destroy, Gráf Légrádi Balázs zenekara. Később a szülővárosában lévő zeneiskolában tanult magántanítványként 2 évig, majd a budapesti jazz konzervatórium tanárának Nesztor Ivánnak volt a magántanítványa szintén 2 évig. Mindeközben stúdiómunkákat vállalt, tagja volt a New Jazz Trio, Cavum, Solar Jazz Trio, Exxxtra Blues Band, Sear Bliss (billentyűsként) zenekaroknak. Később játszott a Jazz For Sale, Mr.Silent, Opus Altera, Boogie Thing zenekarokban és egyéb alkalmi produkciókban is vállalt szerepet. Játékában az erőteljes rockdobolást és a fúzós jazzben használt laza technikát ötvözi.
